Last days

I've been a bad girl in the blogging world. I haven't kept to my promise to blog each and every day during the month of November. These things happen. I'll get over it if you do.

Lots is happening in my world. Work is going topsy-turvy. Just when they are really 'getting' what my position does and can make an impact, they are talking about changing things up again. All the uncertainty with the economy has gotten every ones' panties in a bunch and I'm sure that stock in pepto bismol has gone up. Who knows what I'll be doing this time next year. All I know is that I WILL have a job in the school system. But what I'll be doing is any one's guess. I've decided that I can't worry about that at the moment. I'll enjoy my position while I can and grow as much as I can this year. No matter what comes my way next year, it'll be OK.

The new roommate moved in this weekend. So more changes are on the horizon in the home front area. I've got a good feeling that this will be a good change and good things are on there way.

Got to spend some much needed time with the kinfolk for the holiday. The Little Man was a delight to spend time with. I'm amazed at how much he's growing each time I see him. They are now planning for a short jaunt down to here just before Christmas so I have something wonderful to look forward to! You know I'll be counting down the days!

Almost all of my Christmas shopping is complete. Mom and I went out while I was home to finish up the last few purchasing details. Now all that's left are some knitted items. Speaking of knitted items, knitting has taken place around here. For one, I've worked on some Tootsie Toasters for the mentors in my life. I'm sure they'll enjoy these as the weather turns colder. There was another pair done that Mom quickly claimed as her own while I was home. The pattern is Snowflake Slippers from the book Knit Handmade Style. It's a great pattern that I highly recommend. More of these will be popping up around here to have on hand for house guests.

There was also this deliciously warm cowl that went to Aunt Suz for her birthday. It's the Stacked Eyelet Cowl in the Malabrigo that Lolly sent me. It's perfect for her when she leaves the pool at the gym throughout the winter. It was hard to give up, but I know know it will be well loved so that makes it a little easier.

I finally tackled the BSJ and finished it just in time to welcome the newest member of the family. It's all done up in Ty-Dy cotton. I adored working with this yarn so it'll be added to the stash for other future projects.

Well, there's lots of blogs to catch up reading on. Not to mention still holiday knitting to do. Tomorrow starts the official holiday count down!

Love Ty-Dye too! They have a sock yarn too, you know...

All the knits look awesome, and I'm a bit jealous that all of your holiday shopping is done. I hope to all but finish up this week myself.

Change is always good and I am sure you are handling it well!

Great knit gifts and would have loved to seen the Snowflake Slippers.

Love the BSJ. You did so much better than I for the first one. How in the world did you figure out what to add another color.

I have a cowl on my to do list, should go faster than the scarf I am making.

Thanks, I ordered the book. I should be getting it soon. Then I will have to cast on for the Toostie Toasters.
